We're Cruisin'

Watch out world! Here I come...

Mihret is keeping me on my toes! She has been pulling up on furniture for a couple of weeks and is now using the furniture to get where she wants to go. Every time I try to capture her "cruising" on video, though, she crawls over to me to try to get the camera, so you'll just have to trust me on this one.

She's also "cruising" in the language department. This week she's added words/sounds for "baby" (ba - bee), "bear" (beh), "book" (buh), "bottle" (baba), and "zebra" (zeh) to her previous words of "duck" (duh) and "dada." She says "mama" too but hasn't necessarily assigned meaning to it. Chuck and I are probably the only ones who would recognize her attempts as words, but still, it is amazing to hear the changes in her language in such a short time.

Okay, I'm finished bragging about my daughter...at least for now.

Three Month-iversary

Three months ago today we held our beautiful 7 1/2 month old daughter in our arms for the first time. We were all a little tentative about our journey into the unknown of becoming a family.


Now our 10 1/2 month old sweetheart has found her place in our family and is joyfully demanding. She raises up her hands expecting to be picked up, crawls away expecting to be "chased," pulls herself into our laps expecting to be held, cries out expecting to be cared for, and does adorable things expecting to be adored (which, of course, she is). I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank You, Lord, for blessing us with Mihret.
