Little Mama Stories

Today when we got to our car after church, Mihret turned to me and held her hand out towards the diaper bag. She said, "Let me take that for you, honey. That bag is very heavy for you." Oh, thanks!

Last night we were at Best Buy looking at electronic equipment we can't afford. Mihret got tired of considering how many more wrinkles you could see on the ball players faces in this TV as opposed to that one, or the processing speed of this laptop as opposed to that one, so she quietly wandered over to the stack of yellow shopping baskets. She took one off the top of the pile, and before we knew it she was taking ipod cases off the hooks and putting them in her basket.

"Mihret, what are you doing? We can't buy those, honey."

"I'm getting some things for my sister. She needs these things."

Hmmm....they're already in cahoots....

The other day Mihret and I were taking a walk down the street and, of course, she had one of her stuffed animals with her. This day it was Curious George, but it could just as easily have been tiger or Tigger or Pooh or one of her many dolls. She held George up in the air in front of her and said, "Oh, George! You are getting soooo big! I'm so proud of you!"

That's our girl. Little Mama.
